Pre-program networking and chat 8:30-9am
Official start time: 9am-11am

Program Summary:

Through this interactive discussion, facilitated by NCCJ Program Director Michael Robinson, we’ll explore how our identities shape our unconscious biases (the assumptions we all make about people, usually without realizing we’re doing it), consider how our biases influence our work as coaches, and discuss strategies for heightening our awareness and overcoming our biases to help us be more effective coaches.

Benefits to Coaches:

o   Consider how conditioning, personal views, and direct experiences influence our biases

o   Explore and better understand the role unconscious bias plays in how we form judgements, make decisions and behave while exploring techniques for examining our perspectives

o   Share perspectives with participants from various backgrounds to develop contextual understanding from shared experience and strategies for mitigating bias
